Are you interested in learning more about rodeo? Not yet ready to compete? Have a kind heart and just want to lend a hand? Then sign up to be a rodeo volunteer. Volunteering is a great way to learn about rodeo, FGRA, and IGRA. Volunteers are needed in every capacity, from assisting at the hotels, to helping with ticketing, all the way to working inside the arena, close to the excitement of competition.
An initial list of volunteer descriptions is below. Volunteers are needed Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday with most volunteer positions broken down into shifts. If you can work more than one shift, it is definitely appreciated. All rodeo volunteers will be asked to wear designated shirts. Depending on your shift and availability, you may qualify for complimentary admissions. More details about shifts and complimentary admissions will be available approximately 1 month prior to the rodeo.
Chute Crew
Chute crew volunteers help with the livestock during rodeo events. Each Chute Crew volunteer is required to wear clothing and boots as identified in the rodeo rule book. Chute Crew is a TWO DAY- All day commitment. To be considered for Chute Crew, please contact
Arena Crew
Arena Crew volunteers help with the livestock during rodeo events. Each Arena Crew volunteer is required to wear clothing and boots as identified in the rodeo rule book. Arena Crew is a TWO DAY- All day commitment. To be considered for Arena Crew, please contact
Timers
Event Timers work with the official Scorekeeper for every event and is another great way to learn about rodeo. We are looking for 5 volunteers that can dedicate their time to both rodeo days (this time dedication is a requirement of IGRA; if you are not able to dedicate yourself to both rodeo days, we invite you to consider other volunteer roles). Timers are required to wear clothing and boots as identified in the rodeo rule book. To be considered as a Timer, please contact
Security
The safety of everyone at the rodeo is our utmost concern. Our security volunteers are responsible for crowd control, access point control, and to keep the event up to the standards set by the Rodeo Roundtable.
Volunteer Shift Leads
Coordinating all of the hard working volunteers during the rodeo requires a dedicated individual. We are looking for a couple well-organized and dedicated individuals to help with volunteer check-in, liability forms, and other volunteer tasks as needed. (Morning shift leads are expected to be at the rodeo grounds early both days – a more specific schedule will be shared closer to the rodeo).
Contestants and Officials Host/Hostess
The contestants exert a lot of energy competing and our officials work very hard to execute a flowing event. Because of this we provide certain complimentary items such as beverages and snacks. We are looking for a crew of volunteers who will play host or hostess and help keep the Contestants and Officials happy and the area stocked throughout the weekend.
Ticketing
We need a hard working crew to get the spectators through the front gate and into the seats. Ticketing volunteers are needed Saturday and Sunday at the rodeo grounds.
Other Volunteer Roles
Other volunteer roles will be identified as rodeo planning progresses. If nothing above interests you, but you still want to volunteer, email anyway. Other general volunteers will be needed to "cover" busy areas on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Our Volunteer Coordinator...

Volunteer Code of Conduct & Event Etiquette...
As a Volunteer you represent the FGRA and the Rodeo Roundtable. With this, we ask that you act in a first class manner that supports the first class rodeo we are striving to present. A Code of Conduct is in place and all volunteers will be asked to abide by our guidelines.
FGRA will present each volunteer a copy of our Association Event Etiquette Expectations. FGRA takes great pride in welcoming attendees from all walks of life to enjoy our events. The guidelines have been established to enforce these expectations at FGRA events, and to clearly define what is expected of our staff and guests.
